Sunday Afternoon Jazz with the Sean Smith Quartet at the Fairfield Public Library

Spend an afternoon at the Library with jazz musician and composer Sean Smith when he returns to the Library with his dynamic quartet on Sunday, November 17 at 2:30 pm.  The Quartet features Smith on bass, Loren Stillman on saxophone, Nate Radley on guitar and Russell Meissner on drums.  The Quartet has been described as “adept at both swing and chamber jazz intricacy and delicacy“.  Their most recent recording, Trust, was released in 2011 to rave reviews.  This performance will take place in the Memorial Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road and is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Fairfield Public Library.  Registration is requested.

An integral part of the international jazz scene for over two decades, Smith has appeared at major jazz festivals, concert halls and clubs all over the world.  He has performed with Gerry Mulligan, Phil Woods, Benny Carter, Jacky Terrasson, Bill Charlap, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee and many others.  A prolific composer, Smith’s work has been described as “lyrical, melodic, cinematic, and songful.”
