A Fairfield woman was charged with breach of peace Monday after she allegedly threw a Nerf ball at a CVS employee, police said.

Mariam Farhan, 66, of York Road, had purchased items earlier in the day and returned at around 10 p.m. to argue that she did not get a discount she had been entitled to, police said.

An employee refunded her purchase, police said, but Farhan wanted the employee to redo the transaction and include the discount. According to the report, the employee said that wasn't possible that night because the store was closing and the computers would be shutting down.

Farhan then allegedly threw a Nerf ball, striking the employee in the chest. Staff called police and Farhan was arrested. She is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 26 and banned from entering that CVS.
