Cops: Teen Guns Down Birds on Lake Hills Beach

A Fairfield teen was charged with animal cruelty Saturday after he allegedly shot and killed four birds with a pellet gun at a Lake Hills beach.

Police received a report from a concerned citizen about a disturbance in the Winnepoge Drive neighborhood.

When officers arrived, two males were found in a car with two pellet guns. One -- identified as Kenneth Forrest, 18, of Greenfield Street -- reportedly admitted to shooting and killing the birds, Deputy Police Chief Chris Lyddy said.
