Train Stopped With A 'Jerk'

Posted by Caitlin Mazzola. Reported and written by Trumbull editor Aaron Leo.

Passenger Hector Navarro of Hartford compared the impact with a rollercoaster braking. He showed a picture where one side of the train looked as if it rode up on the other train.

He added he had just been on a car accident where he was rear-ended.
"This was worse," he said.

Another passenger, Chris Martin of Wallingford, said the train "just sort of skidded to a halt really quickly."

"Then we sat for a few minutes."

When he was walking back to the street, the front of the train looked like "a crumpled tin can," he said.
