FEMA, DEEP Reps to Discuss Coastal Map Changes in Fairfield

Representatives will also talk to residents about flood insurance rates and financial steps coastal residents and businesses owners can take in the event of another storm.

Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will host a public outreach meeting in Fairfield on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The meeting -- which will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Fairfield Ludlowe High School cafeteria -- will serve as a way to discuss flood insurance, coastal map changes, and financial steps that the public may need to protect their investments.

Residents, business owners, and local organizations can come at any point during the 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. timeframe to speak with staff from FEMA and DEEP.
