Spring Brook Farm in Reading Vermont is a farm with a social mission. In addition to being a traditional dairy farm Spring Brook runs a program dedicated to helping urban kids. Farms for City Kids is a unique educational program combining classroom study with firsthand farming experience to give urban kids an understanding of how vital academics are to everyday life. The kids grow vegetables, make cheese, and get a real hands on farming expereince which inevitably changes their lives. What could be better than socially responsible cheese?
