Fairfield Wins 2012 Green Coast Award
2012 Green Coast Award Winners Announced, including Town of Fairfield and DEEP Commissioner Dan Esty.
Fairfield Green Drinks hosted the 2012 Green Coast Awards reception, Tuesday, December 4th, 5:30pm - 8:00pm, at The Shack Hometown Grill. Eighteen Green Coast Award Winners were announced, including the "2012 Green Coast Award Honoree" DEEP Commissioner, Dan Esty for his vision, hard work, and leadership in guiding Connecticut into its next phase of integrated sustainability. Commissioner Esty was on hand to personally accept the award and remarked that there are tremendous efforts going on statewide and congratulated all Green Coast Award winners. Town of Fairfield took home the coveted "Sustainable and Resilient Community" award. First Selectman Tetreau accepted the award on behalf of the town and credited Assistant Director of Public Works, Ed Boman for "successfully bringing legitimate cost savings to Fairfield, conserving the environment and saving tax payers money."
Fairfield winners included: Dan Delventhal, MowGreen.US, Environmental Commitment, Small Business: Annelise McCay, School Gardens, Leadership; Erin Rigney, SipSavers, Student Initiative.
